We design and build astro instruments that keep your observatory running safely on its own, so you can actually sleep instead of babysitting the weather—cloud detectors, roof controllers, sky quality monitoring and more. Made by people who observe and image, and who've lost enough sleep already.
✦ Made in the Milky Way
A fully automated observatory is built in layers. Each layer adds capability and safety, you can start with just monitoring and expand from there. These are the building blocks.
Weather & Sky Monitoring
Know when it’s safe to open and when to close. Clouds, rain, humidity, wind, and more, measured continuously and acted on automatically.
Observatory Control
Open and close your roof or dome automatically based on conditions. Control equipment, motors, switches and sensors from a single controller.
Alerts & Emergency Protection
Stay informed when something needs attention, and make sure the observatory closes itself if no one responds. Two complementary systems.
Dew Control & Other Products
Keep your optics clear through the night and mount multiple telescopes on a single setup. Smaller range, but useful additions to any observatory.
Our Automate Your Observatory guide walks through every layer, from basic sky monitoring to fully hands-off operation. Read it before buying anything.
A few highlights. CloudWatcher and Dragonfly are what most customers start with, and keep for years.
Provides reliable readings for cloudiness, rain, sky quality, temperature, and optionally humidity, pressure, and wind. The device most customers start with and keep for many years.

Lunático was born in May 2006 out of one astrophotographer's love-hate relationship with the night sky—which, frankly, explains the name. Jaime Alemany had enjoyed—and suffered for—his passion for the stars since he was a kid, and he was tired of hauling telescopes, mounts, cameras, batteries, eyepieces and endless cables through cold nights just to catch a few clear hours under the Milky Way. So he set out to make astronomy a little easier and safer for the rest of us, night owls included. More than two decades, a small team and one wrench-wielding mascot later—meet Cristobal—we're still every bit as moonstruck, now from both Spain and New Zealand.
