How it works

PushOver supports an emergency priority level that differs from standard notifications. When a DragonFly message includes the word Alarm (capital A), the Lunatico cloud server automatically upgrades it to emergency priority before forwarding it to PushOver.

The result:

  • The notification repeats on your phone every 30 seconds
  • It continues repeating for up to 10 minutes
  • It requires active acknowledgement to stop
  • Custom sound and vibration can be configured in the PushOver app settings

No update required

This feature is available to all DragonFly users immediately, without any firmware update. The word matching and priority upgrade happen on the Lunatico cloud server. Your DragonFly continues to send messages exactly as before.

Important: In order for PushOver messages to work, you must register your PushOver token with Lunatico. If you haven't done this yet, contact info@lunaticoastro.com so we can register your token in the DragonFly cloud server.

Example use case

You can configure a DragonFly advanced macro to send an Alarm message if the roof remains open for more than 5 minutes while the weather remains unsafe. The emergency priority ensures you will not miss this alert even if your phone is in silent mode: the repeated notification and required acknowledgement make it impossible to overlook.

While not as safe as using the Good Night System (GNS), this is a very useful feature available to all DragonFly users.
